Nau mai, Haere mai

Welcome to the “Mana” room at Rockmybaby® Childcare Centre Havelock North

Where children and whānau grow together - children are at the heart of everything we do! We focus on the well-being of our precious children - our future leaders.

‘Mana' has many translations, however for us it describes the bold, enduring, the charismatic and the age of growing independence. Children move through via our Koru room if they have started with us as infants, and generally move through to Mana after the milestone of their second birthday. However, we look at each age and stage of the individual child and work inclusively with whānau on timing.

We are passionate and dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and education to our children.  We foster respectful, reciprocal relationships and value whānau contribution and aspirations. Our passionate teaching team have been carefully selected and work together with whānau to proved the best for the tamariki in their care.

  • Daily rhythm

Our daily rhythm follows your child’s lead, with time for play, group activities, meal times and rest if needed. Our 'room of rest' also has beautiful high quality eco linens provided for each child. We also support children with their toileting needs in a respectful way.

We enjoy events, birthday celebrations, excursions & spending time with our friends in the Koru Room.

We are guided by our termly focus ,which is underpinned by the interests of the group and individual learning goals.

  • Our space

Our Mana Room is designed to meet the learning and developmental needs of our youngest tamariki. The indoor and outdoor space has well-appointed viewing angles to ensure the care and safety of each child whilst in play.

Our teaching team have been carefully selected due to their devotion for providing specialised care for the ever changing needs of our youngest tamariki. Respectful interactions and open communication between the child, teacher and whānau is of utmost importance.

  • Kai/meal times

We believe that nutrition is the foundation of a healthy, happy child. We provide nutrient dense, whole-food meals that are prepared lovingly in the our kitchen by our passionate cook. The meals are prepared using local-where-possible produce, including seasonal fruits, vegetables and whole foods.

We can cater to any dietary needs your child may have.

Meet our Team

  • Caitlin Gregory

    Caitlin Gregory

    Kia Ora whānau,

My name is Caitlin Gregory and I am lucky to be one of the kaiako here at Rockmybaby Havelock North. I have grown up in Havelock North. I have been working in early childhood for over 5 years now and in 2022 I graduated with a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). I am currently provisionally registered and making my way to become fully registered.

I value forming reciprocal relationships with all children and their families.

  • Bethany Clark

Hey, I'm Bethany, a 25-year-old with a degree in music. Over the past four years, I've developed my skills as a nanny and later as an after-school program coordinator at Hereworth School.

Most recently, I spent seven months in Invercargill working as a caregiver at a rest home. When I'm not working, I love hiking, baking, and hanging out with friends. I'm excited to bring my passion and experiences into my role as the centre cook.

  • Cherish Winslow

    Kia Ora.

My name is Cherish and I am delighted to join the teaching team at Rockmybaby. My whanau and I recently relocated from Auckland to Hawkes Bay to lead a more quieter, fulfilling lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of a very busy city. I am married with 2 children, Isabella aged 7 and Tiberius who is 5. They are inquisitive, creative and love exploring the environment around them and it is because of them, I came to realise the enjoyment and passion I have for early childhood education.

In my experience, young tamariki learn best through their own curiosity and discovery. I believe it is my role to help create a nurturing and positive space for them to obey their natural instincts and impulses, to provide enriching experiences for them to become confident learners and form meaningful relationships with those around them.

I consider it a privilege to be part of what I think are the most important years for young tamariki.
